Linocut carving is a fun and versatile art form that allows anyone to create beautiful prints. Learn the process of transferring images to a block, carving your design, inking the block, and hand-printing multiple images. Basic materials needed are a linocut block, cutter, ink, brayer, tracing paper plus paper to print on, and a spoon or barren. Links for buying the non-household items will be sent in advance. Come to the workshop with an image ready to transfer or with just an idea. Designs can be as simple or as detailed as you want. We'll discuss various techniques of adding multiple colors as time allows.
Here is a starter kit with block, ink, cutter, and brayer. Here's a more expensive deluxe kit with more items including color ink. If you'd like to buy additional inks, I suggest water-soluble inks from Speedball for easy cleanup.
